Emma Frost - Marvel Now

Emma Frost (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Frost) got bitch slapped by the Phoenix, picked another slutty outfit - but spoiler alert, it's black this time! - and lost most of her telepathy. She's currently running around with Cyclop's X-Men in the latest volume of Uncanny X-Men.
Getting The Look
Making Emma's Marvel Now look hinges on having the Necromancer chest style with the gaping open front. Combine it with the Classic cape as a substitute for her jacket. Necromancer chest is easy to obtain and drops in low level content or is purchaseable from the marketplace. The cape, boots, hot pants and belt are all available at character creation. Also available at character creation is the Crystalline skin style which works great for Emma's diamond form.

The only style in this outfit that is hard to obtain is the League of Assassins shoulders. I got them from the League of Assassins alert but haven't seen them drop there in a while. I've read that they might drop from Atrocitus in the Coast City duo, and you can also try the other Tier 3 duos and alerts. Until then you can use Fourth World or another square look, basic shoulder style.

The Armories add-on means that you can switch between normal and diamond skinned versions with the touch of a button, in the same way that Emma can switch to diamond form at will. Try not to chuckle when you're running around the HQ flirting with everyone then switching to diamond form when your queue pops.

Body type is Monarch small. You could easily go for Flirty for personality but I think Powerful more accurately reflects the slightly more subdued Emma post Avengers Vs. X-Men.

Power, Movement and Weapon Choice
There's no power set that let's you be a straight out bruiser (get on that DC, Superman and Wonder Woman are both bruisers!). However Earth's Seismic tree has some good punchy (that's a technical superhero term) powers to simulate how tough someone with diamond hard skin would be, without making it seem like she is super strong. Unstoppable will daze and then Localized Tremor and Jackhammer will take advantage of this with super-tough ground pounds. Combine that with some of the melee powers from the Acrobatics tree, like Forward Flip Attack, and Brawling and you have a good melee, diamond skinned version of Emma Frost.

Marvel Now Emma Frost should be a tank. Diamond punches in the face for the win and it's fun seeing attacks bounce off.

Accuracy and Playability
This is pretty close to Emma's Marvel Now look, with the exception of having to use a cape to substitute for the tails on her jacket. Most of the time you can't tell but sometimes when she's running it's obvious. The rest is pretty close. I'm giving it an 8/10. Brawling, Earth and acrobatics powers give a good feeling for having diamond hard skin, but the powers that fit this version of Emma are a little limited. You can still make a decent build, but you won't be top tier in PvE: 7/10.
