Scarlet Witch

The Scarlet Witch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet_Witch) is best known as a mutant and the daughter of Magneto. Her powers are sometimes defined as the ability to manipulate probability to make improbable events happen, and sometimes as magic, depending on who is writing her that month. About to be ruined in the comics because of her starring role in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Getting The Look
I tried quite a few times in the early days of DCUO to come up with a good Scarlet Witch, but could never get one I was happy with. Her headpiece is so distinctive that everything seemed like a poor substitute, until the release of Amazon Fury, Part 1 with it's range of Amazonian headpieces.

The Scarlet Witch has worn many versions of this costume over the years, with many slight variations. I've gone with a more modern interpretation of the look.

The Classic cape, Formal gloves and Knee High boots are all available at character creation. The Tech Sniper belt, which provides a good bridge between the armoured look of the chest piece and the Net leg style is a reward for completing  the Sins Of The Father: Episode 3 briefing in open world Metropolis.

The next two pieces aren't hard to obtain, but will cost you some in game or real world currency. The Stalwart Defender chest piece drops from lockboxes, so you could get lucky, but can also be purchased from the Broker fairly cheaply. The Net leg style is a Marketplace item, purchasable with Station Cash (or the PS equivalent).

Sharpshooter shoulders are a Vault style drop. Complete the Vault daily until they drop for you, they're fairly common. I use the Sharpshooter shoulders, even though this costume doesn't really require shoulder pads, to help cover the terrible clipping where the cape attaches to the shoulders. You can still see some of the problem, but it's a vast improvement.

Finally, and most importantly, the head piece. You will need to be a Legendary member or have access to the Amazon Fury, Part 1 DLC, and your character will need to have a PvE CR of 100 to access the content. The Amazon Soldier head style then drops from any of the available duos (and possibly the solos as well).

Using the bright red colour from the third Palette slot on the headpiece, which has a darker metallic sheen, will make it almost the same crimson colour as the rest of the costume. Using the regular crimson colour will make the headpiece appear much too dark.

Power, Movement and Weapon Choice
Sorcery is the obvious, and most suitable, choice for the Scarlet Witch. You can use any power from either tree, as her 'hexes' have had so many varied effects. Condemn from the Destiny tree looks particularly like you are casting a mutant hex on your foe, while Hand Blasters are the most suitable weapon choice.

For movement I chose Flight. The Scarlet Witch has only been shown to have the ability to fly in more recent comics, so if you wanted a more classic feel you could choose Acrobatics instead.

Accuracy and Playability
A nice Scarlet Witch, with the incorporation of the head piece finishing the look, and only a few minor issues: 8/10. Sorcery is an effective match for just about any version of the Scarlet Witch, and can be played as either a healer of DPS effectively, in both PvE and PvP: 10/10.

  1. Thank you for posting it! It is very similar to mine. You can use different gloves, boots and chest pieces and hairstyles. Really liked! I love your screenshots, you very good at getting it right with the powers and pose and costume ^^

  2. I love this thank you so much, i have a new scarlet witch character (i gave her skimming instead of flight though cause i thought it would make more sense with this costume since she couldnt actually fly at the time so instead using a hex to skim lol). Anyway i currently have the one piece and a daring crusader head piece but was definitely not feeling it. Yes its clear who im emulating to other players but for me personally without the pink it just didnt work for me but with your style layout i definitely can make a truer version of one of my favorite super heroines.
