Psylocke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psylocke) founded a new version of X-Force, finally donned a costume that isn't basically a bathing suit and had a very on trend lesbian affair with her boyfriend's female clone.
Getting The Look
Psylocke's Marvel Now/Uncanny X-Force costume is a simple one to put together, even though only the formal gloves are available at character creation.
Stalwart Defender chest style drops from lockboxes or is available for reasonable amounts on the Broker. This is the only chest style that has anything close to the white X Psylocke wears on the front of her Marvel Now costume, and also luckily has white pieces at the shoulders. You'll need to cover the bare hands and white on the forearms with the Formal hand style.
Tech Ninja waist, for Psylocke's distinctive sash style, can also be purchased from the Broker for not too much. Failing that, or if you're short of cash, you can grind the Ace Chemicals alert treasure chest for it.
The pants on this uniform change depending on the artist. Sometimes they have small arrow like markings on the side of the thigh and sometimes it's a long strip of white. Retro Tech legs are the closest approximation to the later, and can be obtained from the Enigmatic Puzzles investigation in open world Gotham. I also like how they have treads on the feet since this is supposed to be a more practical, battle ready costume for Psylocke.

Power, Movement and Weapon Choice
For this version of Psylocke you can choose either the Illusion or Telekinesis trees from Mental, since she's been shown using both types of psychic abilities. I prefer the telepathic version so I focused on the Illusion tree, using Menace to add mental damage to weapon attacks.
Acrobatics is the only movement type that fits, since this version of Psylocke doesn't really fly using telekinesis. You can add in attack powers from the Acrobatics tree for additional ninja moves.
In Uncanny X-Force Psylocke wielded a katana that she had a special attachment to (this still hasn't really been explained) so One Handed with katana style is a nice choice. You can also play her as Martial Arts, with Cerebral Claws style simulating her psychic blades, or even as Cerebral Bow since Psylocke has recently been generating additional psychic weapons (which I hate, but there it is).

Accuracy and Playability
WOW! Added your blog to favorites, Im a fan of your work with this already!
ReplyDeleteI play DCUO and have some Marvel homages, like my own Psylocke. She is very similar to yours, but I used shoulder-lenght hair. I have trouble with her costumes but thanks to you and your awesome screenshot you gave me ideas and helped me with the colors.
I will keep checking this for updates, keep up the good work!
Im curious to see how would you do an Outback british Betsy, with the hood and cape and armor and a Lady Mandarin costume too...
Regards!
Outback Betsy (or as I call her, Australian Armor Betsy) is the next one I'm posting. It's a personal favourite.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fantastic!
