Marrow

Marrow is a child of the 90's bad girl era of comics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marrow_(comics)). She was rewarded with a place on the X-Men after killing a bunch of humans (that's not even a joke). A mutant, she has 'uncontrollable bone growth' powers that let her pull bone knives and other fun things out of her body to stab you with. She's currently enjoying a resurgence as a member of the new X-Force.
Getting The Look
One of my favourite things about DCUO is that you can create characters like Marrow that you're probably not going to see in an official Marvel game.

Marrow has had quite a few different looks for a character that hasn't appeared in a huge amount of comics. This version is based on how she looked just after she joined the X-Men (and was prettied up from her original appearances).

The two items that really sell this look are the Bone Club weapon style and the Doomsday back piece. These, and the rest of the pieces of this costume, are fairly easy to obtain.

Power legs and Paramilitary hand styles are available at character creation. Angelic chest, Shielded Robot, Supergirl feet and Bone Club styles all drop fairly commonly or can be purchased easily on the Broker. The Doomsday back piece, which looks like spikes of bone sticking out of Marrow's back, drops from Doomsday in the Smallville alert, but can also be purchased on the Broker. It's a bit more expensive than the other pieces, but worth the price.

You will need to use the yellow from Marrow's costume to colour the back piece and weapon the appropriate colour, so they are a little more yellow than I would like, but still make for an effective bone-like look.

Body type is Monarch Small. I've chosen Powerful for personality type as Primal felt a little too animalistic for Marrow.

Power, Movement and Weapon Choice
The best power choice for Marrow in DCUO is nature, representing the characters limited healing factor, then choosing One Handed so you can run around hitting people in the head with a bone (not a metaphor). Marrow is a skilled fighter, having gone toe-to-toe with Wolverine several times. Acrobatics movement type (which is the only one that makes sense anyway) let's you incorporate movement ability attacks into your loadout.

Accuracy and Playability
Fairly close to what this version of Marrow looked like in the comics, with only the chest piece patterning being a little off: 7/10. The nature powers that are appropriate for Marrow are fairly limited, but all you really need is that One Handed Bone Club (still not a metaphor) and weapon mastery to come up with some passable builds: 7/10.

  1. I never thought you would do a Marrow homage. Very well done!

  2. Hey, I have all of those. Revanche is actually my favourite character. I haven't posted her yet because I'm hoping for Star Sapphire weapons to give her a better psychic sword!

    1. I am you fan lol I love both Psylocke and Revanche! She is kind of easy to replicate. Was the first character I created back in DCUO beta ^^ Hope I can see her soon as well as the others like Wanda and Lorna
