Jubilee

Jubilee - Mutant firecracker, Wolverine side-kick, mall-rat... vampire! She was one of the best things about the X-Men in the 90's, and also one of the best things about the 90's X-Men cartoon. Even one of the best things about X-Men: Apocalypse, despite barely being in it! She can throw plasma 'firecrackers' or mini-explosions of bright light and can wear a yellow (plastic I'm guessing!) trench coat like nobody's business.

Available at character creation or from the skin vendor at Ace Chemicals (villain) or STAR Labs (hero)I wanted to convey the idea that Jubilee is always having fun, and looks at being a superhero like it's one big adventure. So even though she is of Asian descent, I chose Cheerful over Human Skin 03. The glasses hide your characters eyes anyway.

Primary Weapon: Bare Hands (Martial Arts)
Bare Hands are a default style for Martial Arts.

Even though I didn't use the 'Asian' skin, Human Skin 03, it was still important that Jubilee have Asian skin colouring. When it came to her costume, the most important thing is that the coat be as load and yellow as possible since that's Jubilee's trademark.

Character Choices
Power: CelestialWeapon: Martial ArtsMovement: AcrobaticsBody TypeMonarch SmallPersonalityComical.
This one isn't really a practical build as there's only one power in the Celestial trees, Admonish, that actually works for Jubilee. But it's still a ton of fun to run around low level content, blasting firecrackers at things and jumping around like a fool.

Jubilee's original fighting style was based a fluke combination of instinct, childhood gymnastics and natural skill (which somehow allowed her to keep up with Wolverine without any training, but we won't go there); so mixing in powers from the Acrobatics tree works well. Martial Arts is also a good fit since the ranged attacks look like you're throwing more of Jubilee's 'plasmoids' or firecrackers at enemies.

Traditionally Jubilee's fireworks ran the spectrum of pinks, golds, greens, blues and purples, so I deliberately chose the villain side of Celestial to give Juiblee's weapon attacks a different colour.

Though this version of Jubilee was quite young in the comics, the Sprite body type, which is meant to be the female equivalent of a child in DCUO just looks like some sort of creepy alien to me. With the overly large eyes, and disproportionate head. So I think sticking with the Monarch body type and Small build looks much better.

  1. Nicely done.
I would love to see you version of Polaris in classic green costume with the tiara and the cape.
